Our customers include global tech companies, leading universities, and world-class research institutions in over 25 countries; working across R&D, high-volume manufacturing, defense, aerospace, and academia.

We cultivate a culture of inclusion for all employees that respects their individual strengths, views, and experiences. We believe that our differences enable us to be a better team – one that makes better decisions, drives innovation and delivers better business results.

Opportunity Overview:

At Quantifi Photonics, we’re redefining the boundaries of photonics innovation, and we’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing product development team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components, enclosures, and assemblies that bring our next-generation products to life. You'll play a key role in ensuring designs meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability standards while supporting the delivery of high-quality products to market.

  • Design and develop 3D models and detailed drawings for mechanical parts (enclosures, heatsinks, brackets, etc.) using CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks or similar).
  • Build and test mechanical prototypes to verify form, fit, and function; conduct environmental and stress testing to validate designs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with NPI, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and cost.
  • Conduct simulations and engineering calculations for thermal, vibration, and mechanical stress analysis.
  • Align mechanical solutions with overall product requirements, balancing function, aesthetics, and environmental constraints.
  • Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and controlled release packages in accordance with internal documentation standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by implementing design, material, and process enhancements based on lessons learned and emerging technologies.

All About You:

We seek individuals who share our passion and determination. Our commitment to customer success drives us to go the extra mile. If you’re ready to join us in this mission, take a closer look at the minimum criteria for the position.

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Solid experience designing mechanical systems and sub-systems for commercial products.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, tolerancing, thermal management, and design for manufacturing.
  • Solid understanding of design standards, documentation, and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with product development processes and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Experience working in global teams with distributed engineering functions.
  • Experience designing tooling, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing.
  • Exposure to electronic product design and integration.
  • Experience with issue/task tracking tools such as JIRA.
  • High attention to detail in design, documentation, and problem solving.
  • Collaborative, professional, and respectful in all interactions.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, and committed to delivering high-quality work on schedule.
  • Analytical approach to complex problem-solving, with the ability to identify design risks and develop effective solutions.

We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

Benefits:

You’ll be part of a highly innovative team delivering cutting-edge solutions to global customers. We offer a collaborative environment where your technical expertise will directly impact our product success and growth. If you're passionate about mechanical design and thrive on solving complex challenges, we’d love to hear from you.
