Job Description
Gain real-world internship experience with a highly successful designer/manufacturer of computer-controlled fruit sorting technology exported globally.
We are looking for 2 passionate and driven Engineering students specialising in Mechanical or Mechatronics to assist our Engineering teams with Product Development projects. These internships will be paid and run November - February across a 10-week period. Here's a sneak peek into what you will be doing:
- Concept generation and analysis
- Construction of proof-of-concept prototypes (mechanical, electronic and software-based)
- Conducting tests on prototypes including data analysis and report writing
- Generation of 3D mechanical designs, manufacturing drawings and work instructions
- Conducting Risk Assessments
- Materials evaluation and testing
- Implementing design changes
- Updating documentation
We accept applications from students in all years of study, however preference will be given to those students in their penultimate year.
Qualifications
This is a hands-on role that requires technical skills which could include experience with Solidworks / 3D CAD, rapid prototyping, product design, and designing & implementing test protocols. The core strengths we are looking for are mechanical aptitude, problem solving, an analytical mind, great communication skills and basic workshop skills.
