About the Role
Medical Laboratory Technicians provide essential laboratory support for scientific and administrative staff. This role includes a diverse range of routine tasks including reagent preparation, equipment maintenance, stock control, ordering of supplies, data entry, processing of samples, genetic testing and supporting the send away process. This role is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
About the Team/Service
Wellington Regional Genetics Laboratory provides a fully comprehensive genetic testing service; (www.wellingtongenetics.co.nz). Our service aim is to provide comprehensive genetic testing to the Central Region in the most professional, timely and effective manner possible. The team of 25 FTE consists of administrators, medical laboratory technicians and diagnostic genetic scientists.
About you
- Tertiary qualification
- Registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand
- Previous experience of working within a laboratory (desirable)
- A keen interest in working in genetics
