About the Role

We are looking for a passionate full time experienced Occupational Therapist. This role involves working as a CAMHS clinician within the Wellington CAMHS team. The role is an integral part of our MDT and works in partnership with infants, children, the young person and their whānau providing mental health assessment and treatment. This could be individual or group work, creative or talking therapies, occupation focused and involve interacting with schools, families and across a range of environments. You would be part of Wellington CAMHS, as well as have the support of other youth sector occupational therapists across the region. There are opportunities for ongoing training, development and supervision.

The Wellington CAMHS team is a passionate and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team with a commitment to providing excellent services in assessment and intervention for young people and their whānau with moderate to severe mental health concerns. About you

Important Skills you will hold to be considered for this role:

  • NZ Registered Occupational therapist.
  • Ideally an experienced practitioner, with mental health skills and expertise, or a passion to learn to work with children, adolescents and their families, bi-cultural and multi-cultural work practices.
  • Ideally you will have an experience or an interest to work in Group work, sensory modulation, and either DBT, EMDR, family therapy, or trauma.
  • Be comfortable working autonomously and co-working.
  • Be competent at managing risk.
  • Enjoy creating a collaborative working space in a demanding service and maintain excellent relationships within the team and other services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the intent of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and work to address the inequitable health outcomes for Māori, as Tangata whenua and other high needs groups.
  • Hold a Full NZ drivers licence.
