JA BUILDING SUPPLIES LIMITED is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage and maintain the company’s financial records. The role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our builder hardware trading business by handling day-to-day accounting and financial tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and balancing financial records using both manual and computerized accounting systems.

Monitoring cash flow and lines of credit to support the company’s trading operations.
Preparing and producing financial statements, budgets, expenditure reports, and financial analyses using ledgers, account books, and accounting software packages.
Preparing invoices, purchase orders, and processing bank deposits to ensure timely payments and receipts.
Reconciling accounts against monthly bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
Verifying recorded transactions, identifying errors or irregularities, and reporting them to management.
Preparing tax-related forms and reports, including the calculation and reporting of Goods and Services Tax (GST) paid and collected.
Skills and Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance, or at least three years of relevant work experience is required.(Either one will do)

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies effectively.
Strong understanding of GST and business tax obligations in New Zealand.
Good communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to liaise with management and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced trading environment.
