Join us at Hato Hone St John as an Operational Effectiveness Manager – Workforce & Planning and help shape the future of ambulance services across Aotearoa. This is your opportunity to be at the heart of meaningful change—supporting key workforce pipeline and planning initiatives. Be part of a passionate team driving real results for our communities.
- Working with the District Operations Managers (DOMs) to ensure FTE establishment for their districts are maintained and plan for when new recruitment is needed.
- Support recruitment of Ambulance personnel by providing subject matter expertise support to Operations managers and People team on the establishment by skill mix.
- Monitor recruitment and training of new FTE to ensure the achievement of timelines for Ambulance Operations.
- Support the change management process and transitional requirements linked to new structures/models of delivery.
- Work with the Clinical Services team to identify training programme and internship/precepting requirements.
- Modelling of workforce pipeline trajectories.
- Modelling of workforce change impacts via simulation or resource profiling.
- Support the coordination of the recruitment of personnel as part of contract uplifts and the introduction of new roster patterns and new components of the ambulance service delivery model
- Analyse data to support recommendations around the configuration and location of any new resources
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated people leadership and coaching experience, ideally in a fast-paced or dynamic environment.
- Proven experience in resource planning and workforce management within emergency services or a similar environment.
- Expertise in data analysis and using business intelligence tools.
- A strong understanding of change management and the ability to drive transformation in a health environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- A commitment to supporting the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and New Zealand’s diverse communities.
