Oral Health Promoter - Taupō

An exciting opportunity has become available to work as an Oral Health Promoter to join our passionate Community Oral Health Taupō team. We are seeking a self-directed energetic person who has a passion for working with tamariki of all ages and wants to make a meaningful and positive impact in the community. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is committed, caring and has the ability to build and foster good relationships with stakeholders.

About the role

  • Advocate and promote health and wellbeing with a focus on oral health
  • Lead and develop workshops and plan educational sessions across different age groups
  • Work with communities groups to improve oral health wellbeing for children
  • Participation at community events to promote oral health education and awareness
  • Monitor effectiveness of oral health promotion programs
  • Work within a dynamic team
  • Permanent Part time – 20 hours weekly

About you

  • Thrive in a collaborative, growth focused environment
  • Experience working with diverse groups of all ages and stages
  • You will need to be flexible, organised, self-motivated and demonstrate that you can work effectively with whanau to improve oral health.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with building positive relationships with community groups
  • Passionate about health and wellbeing
  • Willingness to learn and incorporate Māori language
  • Full driver’s license
