Fonterra Oceania is our newly formed entity that merges the Fonterra Brands New Zealand (FBNZ) and Fonterra Australia operations, aimed at enhancing our competitive position in the trans-Tasman dairy market. The integration of Fonterra Brands New Zealand (FBNZ) and Fonterra Australia builds on similarities to outperform the competition, create scale and synergies, and will strengthen our competitive edge. This role will join a team that helps to build an even stronger trans-Tasman dairy business with reach across Oceania and beyond.

Fonterra Bridge Street produces many of New Zealand’s favourite cheeses, including beloved brands Kapiti and Mainland. The Cheese which comes from Bridge Street is special because it’s crafted by hand and uses only locally sourced milk. Winning multiple prestigious international and local Cheese Awards, Bridge Street is also one of Fonterra’s oldest sites, with it being open for more than a century. It is an iconic employer to the Taranaki region and communities and has had many generations of people work here. As a Bridge Street employee, you will also have the opportunity to sample new cheeses, specialty cheeses and other related products. You will also be able to buy discounted products from the famous Eltham Bridge Street Cheese Bar and have access to all the other benefits that being a Fonterra employee entails.

About the opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga

We are looking for Packing Operators to join the team at our Bridge Street, Eltham site for a 6-month fixed-term opportunity. This is a fantastic opportunity if you are serious about advancing your career and keen to be part of a highly engaged team.

Skills & Experience:

  • Whilst a passion for operation of a food processing plant is a pivotal aspect of this role, we are also looking for:
  • Focus on Health & Safety and Quality
  • Experience resolving plant breakdowns and maintenance issues
  • Operation of touch screen machinery
  • Experience with completing relevant documentation

Work life balance guaranteed with a set day shift of Monday – Thursday, 6am – 4pm.

About you | Mōu

Your strong mechanical aptitude and sound problem-solving skills will ensure things run smoothly - as you won’t just identify the problem, you'll be part of finding and implementing the solution. Ideally you will bring food manufacturing experience however we are open to machine operation experience gained in a different industry.

Together with a can-do attitude and good work ethic, you’ll be able to demonstrate a background of:

  • Sound planning and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork ability
  • Self-motivated with good time management skills
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Able to work in a hygienic environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Being physically fit, as some manual lifting is required up to 25kgs
