Pae Tukutuku (Team Member) Māori Land Court, Ministry of Justice – Whanganui

Te Haeata/The Opportunity

We have two fixed term positions available at the Aotea Māori Land Court, based in Whanganui. One is 6 months covering a secondment and one is 12 months covering parental leave.

Pae Tukutuku mahi is multi-disciplinary and includes the provision of client advisory services, court registry services, case management, land registry services and judicial support services.

Our team members are responsible for processing Māori Land Court applications from end to end (from giving pre-application advice through to completion). In carrying out this mahi you will be making a positive impact on people's lives, and the lives of their future generations.

The work is challenging and varied, and the environment is interesting and supportive. The role is primarily office based but there are opportunities to work throughout the Aotea district.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • a good general knowledge of, and respect for, tikanga Māori and a commitment to further develop your knowledge of Te Reo Māori
  • excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • the ability to manage large workloads and work under pressure
  • a genuine interest in people and a strong customer focus
  • good attention to detail and quality
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • strong demonstrable research skills
  • a high level of integrity and confidentiality

You will work within a well-established and vibrant team alongside technical experts and you'll be flexible, calm and resilient.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The remuneration band for this role is $59,729 to $80,794 – while the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience, we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this role.
