Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
We have an opportunity for a Post-Doctoral Fellow / Research Associate to work with primary investigator Dr Matthew Scobie across a number of related research programmes around Māori political economy.
We seek a highly motivated individual with a research background in a critical qualitative social science discipline, inclusive of but not limited to Māori and Indigenous studies, economic geography, political economy, and critical accounting or management studies.
This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with the primary investigator and other collaborators to excavate Māori economic organisation; intervene in existing political economy concepts and institutions; and reimagine these concepts and institutions for the Aotearoa context.
The role is funded for 4 years. You will have completed a PhD or Masters in a critical social science discipline.
Mōu | Who You Are
To be successful in this position you will ideally have the following:
- A PhD in a relevant social science or humanities discipline or Master's degree if applying for Research Associate.
- Expertise in one or more of Māori and Indigenous studies, economic geography, political economy, critical accounting or management studies, or arts-based methodologies.
- Research project management or related experience
- A publication track record as well as experience with preparation and delivery of quality oral presentations to a wide range of audiences
- A proven ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts (both orally and in writing) to a wide variety or groups including policy makers, communities and academics
- An aptitude for, and ideally experience of, community engagement in research.
