About the role:
As our Principal Risk Advisor, you'll be the driving force behind an enterprise-wide approach to risk, assurance, and compliance at LPC. Reporting into the Chief Legal Risk Officer, this senior role is critical to helping us identify, manage, and mitigate strategic, operational, and regulatory risks in a complex, evolving environment. You'll lead the development and continual improvement of core frameworks, policies, and tools that support risk maturity and enable confident decision-making across the business. You'll also bring your influencing and leadership qualities to the fore by developing and delivering an organisation wide LPC regulatory strategy.
Your remit spans enterprise risk, business continuity, compliance, audit programme management and regulatory engagement. You'll provide insightful, independent advice to senior leaders and the Executive Leadership Team. Working closely with the Chief Legal Risk Officer and Chief Financial Officer (and directly engaging with our Audit and Risk Committee) you'll help shape our approach to risk and resilience. As a trusted voice in the organisation, you'll partner closely with teams to embed a culture of accountability, transparency, and proactive risk management that supports our long-term strategy and aligns with our values. Your key external stakeholders will be consultants and auditors, regulatory bodies and government agencies.
About you
You are an experienced and strategic risk professional with a sharp eye for emerging risks, regulatory shifts, and business impact. You bring sound judgement, resilience, and a proactive mindset - and you know how to influence, educate, and inspire at all levels. You have a strong foundation in multiple risk disciplines, and your credibility is backed by years of experience advising senior leaders and navigating complex regulatory environments.
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Finance, Risk, or a related field with Chartered Accountancy or Auditing qualifications highly desirable.
- Deep expertise in risk, compliance, and assurance—ideally across more than one technical discipline
- Proven experience influencing senior executives and boards, with confidence engaging at C-suite and Board level
- Demonstrated ability to design and embed enterprise risk and compliance frameworks
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to coach and upskill others
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, business-focused approach
- A proactive and independent mindset, with sound commercial judgement
- A track record of driving change and challenging the status quo with integrity
Desirable extras:
- Experience working within or alongside the maritime sector
- Familiarity with both financial and non-financial risk environments across diverse industries
