We’re on the lookout for a motivated and experienced Produce Manager to lead our Produce Department at New World Orewa. If you have a passion for fresh produce, love working with people, and want to be part of a supportive and high-performing team, this could be the role for you!
Days & Hours:
- Sunday to Thursday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
What You'll Be Doing:
As Produce Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our customers receive the freshest, highest-quality produce every day. You’ll lead a dedicated team, manage day-to-day operations, and help shape the department's success.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Sourcing top-quality produce and maintaining excellent stock rotation
- Creating schedules and managing daily staffing needs, including rostering and cover for absences
- Delivering strong visual merchandising to keep the department looking great
- Monitoring KPIs and achieving department targets
- Placing orders and managing inventory levels
- Training and mentoring your team to support growth and development
- Providing exceptional customer service and resolving any complaints
- Ensuring Health & Safety and Food Safety standards are met at all times

What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Produce 2IC or Produce Manager
- Strong understanding of produce quality, stock control, and merchandising
- Confident with computers – experience with Foodstuffs systems is a bonus
- Skilled in leading a team and running a busy department
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for great customer service
- Food Safety certification (NZQA Units 167 & 168) preferred
