A little bit about the role…
We have an exciting and rare opportunity to join Kathmandu as the Production Manager where you must have substantial experience in producing photography and video assets for ecomm, marketing and digital campaigns, overseeing the entire process from briefing to activation. As a key cross-functional partner, you will lead the project consultation and intake process, translating business requests into actionable plans. The role also involves creating and nurturing a culture of creative experimentation to drive optimal performance and deliver on the envisioned goals. You will also be responsible for the management of your direct report – Production Assistant Manager.
Day to day responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Accountability: Photography and Video Production - Plan and execute in-house and location shoot proposals, agendas, and key shoot requirements on time and within budget and coordinate shoot days, post-production timelines, and delivery deadlines.
- Accountability: Budget and Contracts - Manage and oversee production budgets for ecomm, campaign & location shoots, whilst planning and executing location shoot proposals, agendas, and key shoot requirements on time and within budget.
- Accountability: Collaboration and Team Coordination - Collaborate with clients, creative team, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and timelines and coordinate the team, including photographers, videographers, assistants, stylists, and other support staff.
- Accountability: Location/Campaign Support - Collaborate with agencies to create production outreach documents, including creative overviews, project details, casting briefs, usage needs, and budget and work with the product team on featured outfits and create documents for external partners, including images and product codes.
- Adaptable and flexible, capable of adjusting to unforeseen changes and providing solutions.
- Team player with excellent collaboration skills, interacting effectively with various
- internal and external collaborators.
- Demonstrates excellent time management and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with the outdoor gear retail environment is advantageous.
- Effectively plans, organises, and prioritises own work, and when applicable, the work of others.
- Dedicated to reaching goals and targets, consistently delivering results and identifying potential barriers.
- Stays updated on the latest trends, technologies, and techniques in photography
- and video production.
- Exhibits strong attention to detail.
- A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in photo or film production.
- Marketing or brand management experience.
- Knowledge of digital asset systems.
- Strong literacy in Excel and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience in negotiating and managing commercial partnerships.
- Project and budget management experience.
