Mō te tūranga | About the Role
We have a newly created full time Quality Controller role available to support our finfish factory operations at the Kaimoana Hub in Porirua.
This is a critical role, which play an important role in ensuring our premium seafood products meet the highest standards of food quality and safety.
Under the direction of the Production Manager & QA, Compliance & Health & Safety Lead you will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the fish processing procedures, implementing quality control procedures, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out a daily pre-operational and compliance checks to ensure the factory is able and ready to commence production at the designated time.
- Ensure quality checks carried out in accordance with the company product specifications and any third-party specifications.
- Maintain the necessary food safety standards as required by the factory’s Risk Management Plan (RMP)
- Undertake product and environmental testing as per the factory sampling schedule.
- Carry out the factory’s temperature checking programmes to ensure the required food safety standards are being met.
- Monitor and evaluate raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Support the implantation and maintenance of quality control procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with production and management teams to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Stay updated with industry regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
