The Role
We are seeking experienced Quality Technician’s to join our Pokeno team on a fixed-term contract through to December, with an immediate start.
In this hands-on role, you’ll provide quality support directly on the production floor, partnering with Operations to drive right-first-time production, conducting plant walkthroughs, quality inspections, and playing a key coaching role to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining a good understanding of critical quality processes.
- Identify & build subject matter expertise in the plant.
- Investigating, providing solutions and reporting issues within the production and quality units on site.
- Identification of root causes and corrective and preventative actions.
- Innovation through continuous improvement.
- Positive management of problems and people.

This is a fixed term role with an immediate start available. Our roster pattern consists of rotational shifts operating 2-day shifts, 5:45am to 6:15pm, 2-night shifts, 6:15pm to 5:45am and 4 days off. You must be available to work on a rotating roster. The roster pattern is subject to change based on operational requirements.
Skills and Experience We’re Looking For
We are specifically targeting experienced Quality Technicians who bring professionalism, accuracy, and a proactive mindset. You should have:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the dairy or food manufacturing industry as a Quality Technician. However, if you don't have this background, we still encourage you to apply!
- Proven knowledge of food safety and HACCP systems.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel and Word.
- The ability to identify and manage risk.
- Thorough with good attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous learning and actively supports the growth and development of others through coaching.
- A tertiary education in Dairy/Food Science or Technology is highly regarded in this role as is previous auditing experience.
