We're expanding our Platform Engineering team and looking for a Release & Environment Lead to play a key role in how we deliver technology across the AA.
What You'll Be Doing | Mō te Tūranga
In this role, you’ll take ownership of how our platforms, systems, and infrastructure are released and managed across the development lifecycle. You’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating software and infrastructure deployments, ensuring environments are stable, well-maintained, and aligned with testing and delivery needs.
You’ll play a key role in leading release execution across multiple projects and managing a complex, evolving environment landscape to support consistent, reliable delivery.
Manage environment planning and usage across development, testing, and pre-production stage
Collaborate with developers, testers, and business stakeholders to align release timelines and activities
Ensure systems are deployed smoothly and consistently, with minimal disruption to operations
Maintain visibility of multiple releases and environments, resolving conflicts and managing dependencies
Drive process improvements to optimise release workflows and environment reliability
About You | Mōu.
You have strong, hands-on experience in release management, with a proven ability to plan and coordinate complex software and infrastructure releases. You understand how important well-managed releases are for ensuring stability and a smooth experience for users. You’ve worked across both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments and thrive in collaborative, cross-functional teams
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, deployment tools (e.g. Bitbucket, Azure DevOps), and version control systems like Git
Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g. Datadog)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work across technical and non-technical teams
Hands-on experience with incident response and post-incident reviews
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
