Are you a data-driven problem solver with an eye for risk? We’re seeking a proactive and analytical Risk Analyst to join our Portfolio Insights team. If you have a passion for transforming complex data into meaningful stories and shaping smarter risk decisions, this could be your next big move.
Reporting to the Portfolio Insights Manager, you’ll be a key player in delivering insights into portfolio performance, asset quality, and credit risk. You'll assess metrics, trends, and risk exposures, ensuring emerging issues are identified early and communicated clearly to guide risk mitigation and enhance portfolio resilience.
Key Responsibilities include:
Develop expertise in credit risk data, impairments & provisioning, and capital analytics.
Lead end-to-end portfolio analysis—from data collection and interpretation to performance reporting and risk trend assessment.
Generate recurring and ad-hoc insights using SAS and SQL, delivering actionable intelligence to senior stakeholders.
Compare actual vs. target outcomes and assess the health of the portfolio.
Proactively identify risks, shifts in credit quality, and concentrations across the book.
Work across multiple teams including Risk Management, Risk Analytics and Finance to support broader risk and performance initiatives.
Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to internal risk frameworks.
Champion automation and continuous improvement, leveraging tools like Power BI and SAS to boost timeliness and accuracy.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
Tertiary qualification in a numerate discipline (e.g. Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance)
Proficiency in SAS is essential and any other equivalent analytical tools such as SQL is advantageous
Demonstrated experience in handling large datasets, data modelling and report creation
Strong track record in exploratory data analysis and actionable insights generation
Background in Credit Risk or Finance, with experience in data analysis & reporting
Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or SAS Visual Analytics
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Strong organisational abilities and a logical, analytical mindset
