About this role | Mo tenei turanga
We are seeking an experienced and motivated senior advisor to join our Business Support team for a fixed term/secondment opportunity to finish May 2026.
This is a pivotal role where your senior-level expertise will shine. You'll provide high-quality advice and support across Te Poutahu | Curriculum Centre working on complex issues, stakeholder engagement, and the development of key documents, plans, and operational strategies.
This is not a passive role, we're looking for someone who is proactive, anticipates needs before they arise, and takes the initiative to drive improvements, solve problems, and contribute to better outcomes at every opportunity.
Salary range: $84,425 - $102,271 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

- Proven ability to collaborate effectively and stepping up to take the lead and drive key initiatives.
- Confidence to apply your expertise to ensure that deadlines and timeframes are met in a credible and timely manner
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

About our group and team | Matau ropu ake
The purpose of Te Poutahu is to lead the national curricula for Aotearoa New Zealand and associated systems and processes of assessment and aromatawai.
We design, develop and provide curriculum services for teachers, kaiako, leaders, akonga, their whanau and communities that reflect their identities, languages and cultures. We bring together curriculum, teaching expertise and evidence for the development, support and review of inclusive curricula, assessment and NCEA. Our strengths are across te reo Maori, matauranga Maori, disability, inclusive learning support and culturally relevant content so that Te Mahau supports learning that is inclusive for all akonga.
We support the people who are closest to, and directly serve, akonga and whanau. We do this through Te Mahau where we connect with the sector, working collaboratively to identify priorities and design local solutions.
