We are looking for a financial specialist, ideally with experience in the petroleum or natural resources sector, who can deliver and manage a wide range of financial assessments and financial instruments related to the decommissioning of petroleum infrastructure in New Zealand.
This senior role sits within Resource Markets at MBIE which leads the management and responsible development of New Zealand's natural resources sector.
The Senior Advisor, Financial Capability Securities will call on a set of core competencies, including assessing corporate finances, reviewing project economics, developing and evaluating financial models; and be able to draw on experience working with financial securities, including the drafting of securities and negotiating contractual outcomes.
A collaborative working style is required as the role will work across various teams within MBIE and externally with petroleum companies, other government agencies, and iwi.
- 5 or more years relevant financial experience, preferably working in the petroleum industry or a related industry
- Tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting/Law or other relevant qualification
- Strong financial assessment, analytical, and critical thinking skillset, preferably with experience of financial securities
- Ability to work collaboratively and deliver information clearly to a range of audiences
