Mo tenei turanga - about the role
This position supports the Manager Incident and Emergency management, in driving the design and continuous improvement of operational doctrine, systems, tools, and standards. The role contributes to ensuring effective and coordinated response efforts across all levels of command and control, for routine and large-scale events. You will build strong relationships both externally and internally to lead large and complex pieces of work including updating and implementing the incident command system to ensure it is fit for purpose.

Bring your experience leading incident command and providing advice in forward planning. Ideally you will have strong writing skills alongside your ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and requirements. Experience in drafting technical documentation, or leading projects would be an advantage.
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will:
- Proven experience in incident command and emergency management
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of geographically spread stakeholders including unions and associations
- Experience designing and implementing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
