The Crown Response Office was established in September 2024 to coordinate and facilitate cross-government decision making and implement the Crown's response to the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry. The Office sits within the Public Service Commission. The creation of the Office within a central Government agency was a key recommendation in the Royal Commission's final report, Whanaketia - through pain and trauma, from darkness to light.
The Crown Response Office plays an important strategic, advisory and coordination role to ensure the Crown is joined up and focused on the right priorities.
We currently have a newly created fixed term or secondment opportunity to 30 June 2027 for a Senior Advisor Monitoring and Reporting.
Reporting to the General Manager Enabling Services, the Senior Advisor Monitoring and Reporting plays an important supporting role in establishing and executing a comprehensive monitoring framework that evaluates, tracks and reports on the progress of the Crown's response.
Working closely with the Principal Advisor Monitoring and Reporting, this position is responsible for analysing progress, identifying risks and issues in the Crown's response to enable effective inter-agency communication. The Senior Advisor provides detailed data analysis, produces timely reports and offers recommendations to support continuous improvement and assurance on the Crown's response.
Key accountabilities include:
- Support the development and maintenance of monitoring and reporting frameworks, including KPIs, milestones, and reflecting outcome measures to report on the progress of the Crown's response.
- Monitor data and information for early identification of challenges that may impact effective delivery of the Crown's response.
- Produce progress reports on actions, outcomes and performance against established indicators.
- Integrate data from multiple sources to produce clear, concise and actionable reports.
- Prepare reports for internal and external governance groups, Ministers and the public.
- Support coordination across agencies to ensure consistent monitoring and reporting of milestones, timelines, and outcomes.
- Coordinate cross-agency sharing of insights and ensure addressing of challenges is prioritised.
You will bring:
- Experience in business/data analysis and reporting in large, complex organisations.
- Ability to design reports and visualisations that are insightful, accurate, and user-friendly.
- Expert writing skills, experience and demonstrated capability in successfully communicating effectively to diverse audiences.
- Experience providing advice to Senior Leaders and Ministers including the development of briefings and internal memorandums.
- Experience in building and maintaining effective working relationships and excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Experience of undertaking proactive monitoring and analysis, in-depth resolution with stakeholders and other interventions in respect of complex systemic issues.
This position is a fixed term or secondment opportunityuntil 30 June 2027.
The full-time salary for this role starts at $106,294 and is negotiable depending on skills and experience.
