We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering Experience (DEX)
squad for 13 months to cover parental leave, from 1 August 2025 to 1 September 2026. This
role is crucial in supporting our data integration and cloud data platform transformation
initiatives, designing and building patterns to source data from various systems to our Cloud
Data Platform.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models using
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Data & Analytics Platform squads & engineers
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are met across all data
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions
- Provide technical guidance and support to Data Engineering Chapter, DEX Squad, and

You will bring to the role:
- Experience that demonstrates thought leadership in data integration:
o Working with business users to adopt said patterns
o Cross team collaboration for problem solving
o Ensuring designed solutions are secure and supportable
o Operate in a key squad for strategic modernisation projects
- Ideally proven track record working with cloud data engineering tooling, one or more
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and on-premise data systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business
service, patterned solutions.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to
speaking.
- Demonstrated thought leadership in data engineering.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data tools such as dbt, StreamSets, or Snowflake.
- Familiarity with ASB's data platform or experience in a regulated financial
