Senior Scrum Master

    Full-time
    Engagement type: Permanent - Employee
    Department: Vector Technology Solutions (VTS)

Job Description

Do Yourself a Power of Good

Vector is collaborating with AWS and other leading global technology firms —right here in Aotearoa New Zealand —to tackle some of the world’s biggest energy challenges.

In 2020, Vector and Amazon Web Services (AWS) formed an alliance to co-develop Diverge, a cloud-native data platform. This partnership evolved into Vector Technology Services (VTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Vector, New Zealand’s largest distributor of electricity and gas.

At VTS, our strategy is to deliver commercially valuable, cloud-native platforms that solve today’s energy challenges while staying primed for future innovation. We're guided by the four Ds:

  • Decarbonisation
  • Decentralisation
  • Democratisation
  • Digitalisation

The Opportunity

We’re a team on a mission to revolutionise how energy data is managed, accessed, and used globally. With rapid growth and continued success (with our sights set on the Global market), we’re looking to expand our team.

…This is where you come in!

As our new Senior Scrum Master you can expect to:

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, keeping meetings purposeful and on track while removing blockers to keep your team moving forward.
  • Coach your squad on Agile values and practices — always with a practical mindset — helping the team grow their capability and self-organisation.
  • Champion continuous improvement by reflecting on how the team works and encouraging small, meaningful changes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align expectations and improve how teams work together across the business.
  • Spot opportunities to evolve and improve how we work — whether it’s within your team or across the broader organisation.
  • Work side-by-side with a wide range of colleagues — from juniors to senior leaders — bringing a positive, can-do approach to juggling priorities and getting things done.

What you will bring:

  • Proven Agile Delivery Experience: 5+ years delivering transformation, product, or project outcomes in a tech or IT environment, ideally with experience in Agile delivery for external customers and enterprise SaaS platforms.
  • Change Leadership: A track record of successfully supporting Agile adoption and guiding organisations through change.
  • Strong Coaching & Mentoring Skills: A hands-on, adaptive approach to growing Agile capability across individuals and teams, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Confident Facilitator & Communicator: Skilled at leading Agile ceremonies, guiding team discussions, and helping groups reach decisions and solve problems collaboratively.
  • Collaborative Problem Solver: Comfortable managing conflict, navigating team dynamics, and enabling constructive outcomes.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience using Agile project management tools like JIRA, Shortcut, or Rally.
  • Stakeholder Savvy: Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build alignment and engagement at all levels of the business.

We Also Offer:

  • A fun, flexible, and stimulating work environment, filled with interesting work being done by smart and innovative people
  • Flexibility, including the option to work from home a couple of days a week, and flexible start and finish times to help balance work and life
  • Health and wellbeing support
  • Great benefits that reflect the importance of family
