If you have experience in rural property management, are a problem solver and want to use your skills to make a meaningful impact, this is a unique opportunity to do just that, as a Senior Trustee - Rural Properties at Public Trust. This is a part time, 20 hours per week, permanent position.
In this rewarding role you will work closely with a range of people including station managers, farm consultants, and legal and financial professionals to ensure rural properties are run efficiently, ethically, and in line with legislation. This role blends hands-on property oversight with trustee responsibilities and is ideal for someone who understands the complexities of farming operations.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Managing rural property contracts, service contracts and agreements.
- Overseeing farm inspections, maintenance, leases, sharemilking agreements, and insurance.
- Ensuring financial obligations are met—processing invoices, managing budgets, and filing tax returns.
- Providing clear, professional advice and guidance to beneficiaries and stakeholders.
- Collaborating with internal teams and contributing to continuous improvement across systems and processes.
- Supporting the wider Specialist Service Delivery team and helping build a strong team culture.

You're someone who knows and understands rural properties—whether through hands-on farming experience, consulting, or managing rural assets. You're confident navigating legal, financial, and operational aspects of farm management, and you bring a professional, customer-focused approach to everything you do.
You'll thrive in this role if you:
- Have trustee or senior trustee experience, or a background in legal, insurance, accountancy, or commerce.
- Understand rural leases, sharemilking arrangements, and farm operations from practical experience.
- Are detail-oriented and comfortable managing complex contracts and compliance requirements.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with beneficiaries, lessees, and professional partners.
- Are commercially aware and confident making sound decisions that balance risk and value.
- Have strong planning and administration skills and are comfortable using systems and technology.
- Are proactive, collaborative, and always looking for ways to improve how things are done.
