Key tasks and duties to be performed:
• Plans and reviews day to day delivery of engineering aspects of the designated project works, working with the Project Engineers to ensure the works are delivered to programme and budget, and meeting quality standards.
• Ensures that performance targets under their control are met, together with maintaining the required high standard of safety and quality.
• Undertakes other duties as directed by the Construction Zone Manager.
Job Description
Role Specific Accountabilities
- Provide effective support to the Zone Manager and Senior Project Engineer and maintain effective communication.
- Working with the Project Engineer, develop construction work packs for the disciplines or areas of construction they are responsible. Submit these to SPE or Construction Zone Manager for Sign off.
- Prepare daily costings for assigned construction work packs and highlight to SPE any cost overruns.
- Maintain a daily diary on the nominated EBA system for all works within the assigned remit for the workday, which is accurate and finalised at the end of the shift.
- Implement assigned construction works packs on a daily basis, ensuring full compliance, and highlight to the SPE any forecasted impacts or variations to Senior on site staff to ensure project success.
- Liaise with the wider project team members, including Design, Health and Safety, Estimating, Integration and Procurement teams as required to develop and delivery the construction works pack.
- Understand drawings and specifications, communication requirements to others as required.
- Provide assistance to the Zone Manager and Senior Project Engineer with project planning including programme, work methods, procurement, quality assurance, and budgets.
- Implement the site safety and environmental controls plan, in collaboration with Construction Foreman to meet or exceed the project requirements.

- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders
- Network through the industry and marketplace enhancing the Alliance reputation for integrity, certainty of delivery and the ‘good to deal’ with ethos.
Sustainability
- Demonstrates understanding of the Alliance's sustainability objectives and looks to apply these when making decisions and delivering work.
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
- Actively demonstrate safe work processes, and behaviours and ensure these are followed by all employees and contractors in their place of work.
- Support the implementation of HS&E procedures for the Alliance as required.
- Attend safety meetings.
Other
- Participate in projects as necessary and assist with other duties as required.
- Demonstrate the Alliance values and behaviours and actively promote to others.
Required Skills and Competencies
Minimum 2 years of Construction and Engineering experience,
· Technical knowledge in Construction methods including productivities
· Effective communication skills – both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate with a variety of people.
· Effective interpersonal skills – work with and get the best out of a wide mix of people.
· Effective organisational skills - able to manage time well and prioritise work.
