About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Speech Language Therapist (SLT) with a passion for working with children and their families in the community they live in. The Child Development Service is a multi-disciplinary, collegial team who provide paediatric services throughout Hawke's Bay for children aged birth to sixteen years living with disability.
The successful applicant will be providing services in the community where the tamariki reside using tikanga and relationship-centred practice. The purpose of this role is to work alongside an experienced SLT clinician to provide both assessment and intervention of early language development as well as swallowing difficulties.
The position is open to newly qualified therapists as well experienced clinicians.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The child Development Service/ Te Kunenga Mai Rongokako, provides assessment/ intervention and support to children at risk of, or, who have a known developmental delay or disability. We are based in a purpose-built children’s hub in Hastings. We work where ever the child is across the whole of Hawkes Bay. We also have clinical spaces on site if needed and work closely with the Paediatricians who are also on site.

About you
We are looking for someone with strong foundational skills in SLT. A passion for working with children and their families and a strong team player.
You will also need the following key attributes and skills:
- NZ Registered Speech-Language Therapist with current NZSTA registration
- Excellent communication skills
- Full driving license and ability to drive a car in New Zealand
- NZ resident or citizen or have an appropriate visa to be eligible to live and work in NZ
- Previous paediatric and/or disability SLT experience preferred but not essential
