We are looking for a Support Worker to join a team supporting an individual with high levels of challenging behaviour and complex behavioural support needs. Part of what you do each day will be helping them to recognise and respond to overwhelming emotions safely. We are looking for someone physically fit who has the resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
Part of the role will involve managing risk and maintaining safety. Dealing with challenging behaviour can be tough, but with the right approach, we can make a difference, promote positive behaviours, and create a supportive environment for people to thrive.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
Previous experience as a Support Worker is preferred, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with a calm and resilient nature.
- Previous experience supporting people with high and complex needs is preferred.
- Previous experience working with challenging behaviours and de-escalating situations.
- A calm nature, resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
- Ability to work in an environment with diverse individuals, being open-minded and non-judgmental in your approach.
- Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical fitness to provide physical support needs and participate in activities.
- A Full NZ driver's license or ability to gain this within 6 months.
