HealthCare NZ is a leading provider of in-home and community-based health, rehabilitation, nursing, mental health and disability support. Our aim is to support people to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible and to maintain their independence regardless of age, injury, illness or disability.
We are currently looking for empathetic and passionate Support Workers to join our Community Services team in Napier. This is a permanent part time role, focused on providing weekend leave cover to ensure the people we support continue to receive consistent, high-quality care. This would suit people who have commitments during weekdays i.e. study, family etc.
What does a Support Worker do?
As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:
- Meal preparation
- Community outings and integration
- Administering medication
- Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
- Home management

What are we looking for?
- Attitude - a desire to help and support others, achieving excellence in all you do!
- Previous healthcare or care-giving experience is desirable, although not essential
- Excellent communication skills.
- Healthcare qualifications are advantageous.
- Most positions require a full NZ drivers' license and your own reliable transport.
