RealNZ is on the lookout for a passionate and people-focused Team Leader to guide our Visitor Centre teams across the stunning Whakatipu region. If you thrive in a fast-paced tourism environment and love creating exceptional guest experiences, this could be your next adventure.
As Team Leader, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional visitor experiences across our Whakatipu Visitor Centre, you will:
- Lead, coach, and support a team of front-line staff, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture that reflects RealNZ's values.
- Ensure every guest receives a warm welcome and world-class service, creating memorable moments that reflect the magic of our region.
- Drive team performance and engagement, setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and celebrating success.
- Oversee daily operations, including staff rostering, retail presentation, reservations, and guest services, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with other departments, including operations, marketing, and product teams, to deliver seamless and integrated visitor experiences.
- Support training and development, helping team members grow their skills and confidence in a dynamic tourism environment.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
Please note: Weekend availability is essential, and we're looking for someone who can start immediately.
What you'll bring:
- 6-12 months leadership experience
- At least 1 year of experience in the tourism industry
- Background in customer service, retail, or reservations with proven ability to deliver superior guest service
- Experience with Fareharbour and rosters
- A friendly and approachable manner with a passion for people
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to lead by example
