Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Team Leader, HR Applications on a permanent, full-time basis. We are seeking an experienced systems leader who can shape delivery through robust, reliable, and operationally aligned HRIS and payroll systems. This is a unique opportunity to lead a skilled team and collaborate across digital and HR functions to deliver operational excellence.
The salary range for this role is $130,390 to $168,740 (Band 18) per annum.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the operational management, security, and performance of HRIS and payroll systems.
- Collaborate with Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions, Finance, and Strategy & Planning teams to ensure system integration and data accuracy.
- Manage configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of systems such as Oracle HCM, and aPay.
- Resolve complex software issues and implement compliance tools.
- Lead prioritisation and change processes for system enhancements.
- Provide expert input into strategic projects and ensure alignment with University goals.
- Set performance objectives and build team capability through coaching and development.
- Promote health, safety, and wellbeing practices within the team.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
We are looking for an operational and collaborative team leader with:
- Proven ability to lead and supervise technical teams and deliver outcomes through change.
- Demonstrated technical experience of over five years at a senior level supporting complex applications, such as Oracle Cloud and aPay, and services relating to HR and Payroll.
- Expertise in system configuration, testing, and implementation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience working with external vendors and internal ICT teams.
