Take the lead in optimising supply chain operations at Australasia’s largest food testing laboratory.
Are you a strategic and hands-on Inventory & Logistics professional looking to make a real impact in a dynamic, purpose-driven organisation? We’re seeking an experienced Inventory & Logistics Team Leader to join our high-performing team at AsureQuality’s Lynfield Laboratory – the largest food testing site of its kind in Australasia.
With over 450 staff and a major site redevelopment underway, this is a rare opportunity to lead logistics for a site that never stops – operating 365 days a year to uphold Aotearoa’s world-class food standards.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Site Operations Manager and managing a team of five, you'll take full ownership of inventory and logistics operations – ensuring our laboratories are fully equipped at all times. You’ll also have plenty of scope to drive improvement projects and streamline processes to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee purchasing of laboratory reagents and consumables
- Manage stocktakes, reconciliations, replenishment, and reporting
- Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply
- Lead process reviews and drive workflow optimisation initiatives
- Ensure safe storage and disposal of chemicals in line with HSNO regulations
- Manage inventory levels, including obsolete stock control
- Oversee dispatch of consumables to labs and customers within agreed SLAs
- Coordinate timely collection of customer samples
- Lead performance reviews of logistics service providers and track KPIs
- Coach, develop and support your team
- Take part in project work and continuous improvement initiatives
About You:
- 5+ years’ experience in procurement, inventory or logistics management
- Background in laboratory, healthcare, manufacturing, or similar operational environment
- Proven experience managing teams and supplier relationships
- Solid understanding of supply chain principles
- Excellent communicator – both written and verbal
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Process improvement mindset with knowledge of Lean methodologies
- Proficient with relevant systems and tools
