About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance
The ASM is an alliance between Fulton Hogan, HEB Construction and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028.
The Opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity to work on an impactful motorway maintenance contract as our Tunnel Technician. As Tunnel Technician, you will undertake maintenance, renewals, and repairs for the Johnstone Hill, Victoria Park, and Waterview Tunnels. You will assist with maintenance, renewal, and repair of the roadside transport technology equipment including VMS, CCTV and network systems.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity. You will be required to undertake day shift, night shift, and on-call work, so flexibility is a must.
What you will be doing:
You will be carrying out technical tasks and maintenance activities for tunnel works, including renewals and repairs, in adherence with our Asset Management systems and processes. You will also be responsible for:
- Progress reporting and recording completion of work information.
- Ensuring all faults and planned maintenance is completed on time and to standard.
- Supporting the supervision of onsite activities and subcontractors.
- Supporting audits, inspections, and the implementation of safety measures.
- Following HSQE programs, conducting risk assessments and monitoring performance.
- Managing tunnel tools and general housekeeping of workshops and cabinets.
- Scoping jobs on site.
- On-call availability for 24/7 for reactive and emergency works as required.
About You:
As our Tunnel Technician, you will have a current Electrical qualification or be working toward registration. You will also have:
- Experience in electronics, electrical systems, ITS, security systems or CCTV
- Good understanding of fault-finding procedures technical problem solving
- Skills in IT Computer and systems use
- Availability to undertake day shift, night shift, and on-call work
