Position: Vehicle painter
Job duties:
- Carry out a proper examination to see if any parts of the vehicle need to be replaced, protected, or sanded to ensure that painting is properly done
- Fill small dents, cavities and scratches on the vehicle to create an even surface
- Remove rough spots and and other debris from surfaces to be painted with effective techniques and tools
- Get rid of dirt or grease from vehicle surfaces and ensure that the vehicle is well prepared and ready for painting
- Mask or tape off details and components to avoid contamination and maintain clean lines
- Mix paint to achieve desired color and texture
- Use materials to paint surfaces of vehicle units
- Sand surfaces between coats
- Touch up defective areas of painted vehicles
- Remove masking papers, and wax and polish finished paintwork
- Maintain work area clean and organized, ensuring maintenance of tools and equipment
- Order supplies and maintain inventory when needs
- Document the materials used in the process to maintain traceability
- Management of the collection, disposal, and storage of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes
- Paint signs or artworks on vehicle when required
- Perform any other duties reasonably required by the employer
Pay rate: $28.00 - $32.00 / hour
Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 30 hours, permanent full-time
Requirements for the job:
- You should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Be physically fit and healthy
- Full time availability, may work on the weekends
- Strong understanding of paint application method
- Have a positive attitude
- Be Reliable and punctual
- Be attention to details and being extra careful
- Ability to work independently and as part of team
- No criminal record
- Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident
