Goodwin Group is a New Zealand owned FMCG business which provides specialised services in head office key account management (Foodstuffs, progressive and Independent Retailer), sales, merchandising, distribution, and in store tasting and much more.We require a logistics superstar to be responsible for overseeing the operations of our Auckland warehouse. We are a dynamic company with a growing workforce, so flexibility and being able to assist where needed when we have tight deadlines is key.
You may be responsible for:
• Managing the operations of our Auckland warehouse.
- Developing policies and practices that optimise the efficiency and safety of our warehouse and logistics operations.
- Ensuring inventory levels are appropriately maintained.Operating recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished goods, and ensuring re-ordering and re-stocking at optimal times
- Optimising warehouse operations through applying rigorous maintenance and security systems and protocols to meet supply requirements and control stock levels
- Warehouse staff management, including recruitment, training, supervision, scheduling workflows to meet deadlines and discipline as required.
- negotiating contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements
- liaising with other departments and customers concerning requirements for outward goods and associated forwarding transportation
Skills and experience for the role:
• A relevant tertiary Qualification or two years of relevant work experience.
- An intimate understanding of FMCG and supermarket supply chain systems.
- A strong understanding of relevant laws that govern the transportation, exportation, storage and handling of food in New Zealand.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- The ability to get on with a wide variety of people.
- Forklift license would be beneficial
- Computer proficiency.
- Free from drug and criminal history. Background checks may be required.
