About the role

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will be at the heart of our financial operations, contributing to key valuations, reporting tasks, and strategic projects. This is your chance to collaborate with talented professionals, enhance your skills, and support the financial health of Chubb Life NZ while making a difference in the lives of our customers.

In this key role, you’ll

  • Make an Impact with Financial Valuations by diving into US GAAP and NZ IFRS17 valuations, ensuring precision and compliance while skilfully explaining variances.

  • Contribute to quarterly data returns, internal trend reports, and preparing annual financial statements, showcasing your analytical prowess.

  • Play a crucial part in testing and enhancing our models, ensuring they are reliable and cutting-edge.

  • Contribute to and support the advice for individual policy queries

  • Contribute to process Improvements by driving the simplification of complex processes and implementing best practices that boost efficiency and effectiveness.

To be successful and grow in this role, you will ideally bring the following

  • A tertiary qualification in Actuarial Science or a related quantitative discipline with at least a B+ average.
  • Progress towards Level 1 exams with the New Zealand Society of Actuaries and up to 4 years of actuarial experience.
  • Proficiency in actuarial processes and systems, ideally with knowledge of Prophet.
  • Strong analytical skills and a results-oriented mindset, with the ability to tackle challenges with energy and drive.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to foster collaboration and unity within the team.
