About the Role
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will join our Allied Health team supporting our services to provide care to clients within the Nelson /Tasman community. You will work under the supervision of Team Leader for Occupational Therapy and Store Management, working alongside Allied Health assistants and receiving delegated clinical tasks and request from the Allied Health practitioners.
The role is predominantly focused within the Allied Health Equipment Store and Nelson Hospital preparing, receiving, organising the equipment and inventory management for both the hospital and community. The role will be client / whānau focused with an high administrative focus.
This is a fixed term, role for six months working 48 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE), in agreed hours between Monday to Friday within the of 8.00AM - 4.30PM.

About you
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will be a practical, well organised and a physically fit person with excellent written and oral communication skills. You - ll have a friendly and welcoming manner with the ability to relate to a broad range of people of all ages and abilities . It will also be important that you can work under direction, be a cooperative team player who is supportive of your colleagues, and work in flexible, positive manner displaying a high appropriate level of initiative.
A Home Carer Certificate, or equivalent, and/or experience within the health sector is preferred, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
Qualifications
It - s essential that you have Year 11 - NCEA Level 1 English and Maths (or equivalent) and a current full driver - s licence.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
