New World Stanmore is a great community supermarket in the heart of Christchurch. We are looking for a Baker to join our Bakery team. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week). Proposed roster is Sunday to Thursday, 5am-1.30pm, with Sunday being 4am-12.30pm.

Daily Tasks Involved in the role:

• Producing from scratch a full range of high quality bakery products
• Ensuring food safety and health & safety standards are met
• Delivering exceptional customer service
• Ensuring all products are merchandised to a high standard
• Working with and ensuring all bakery equipment is operated and maintained correctly
• Maintaining a positive working relationship with the whole bakery team and the wider New World Stanmore team

The person we are looking for will have the following attributes:

• Good baking experience with exposure to both doughs and cakes
• Be able to work well in a small team, but also be able to complete tasks unassisted in the required timeframe
• Must be able to show initiative
• Must be honest and reliable
• Must be physically fit as they will be on their feet all day
• Must have a positive approach to their day and have a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Have a passion for giving excellent customer service and going the extra mile for our customers
• Must enjoy early starts
• Must have great presentation skills and attention to detail
