We are looking for an experienced Industrial Blaster Painter to join our Taranaki based team
An Industrial Blaster Painter will be required to prepare surfaces of a material prior to the application of a protective coating to the safety, quality and environment standard required. Provide the best possible coating method and result while maintaining a safe working environment. Use the application of industrial protective coatings by all methods of application, i.e spray (conventional and airless), roller brush and trowel, and all types of coatings including paint, metal arc spray, fireproofing and pipe wrapping. All abrasive blasting and Protective Coatings are to comply with current Australia and New Zealand standard.
The ideal candidate will also be experienced with operating an industrial forklift, moving product around the sites as needed working in conjunction with the Supervisor and Clients timeframes.
Applicants should:
- 5 years + experience in a similar role
- Experience in Arc Spray and Fire Proofing Systems will be highly regarded
- NZQA or Equivalent Industrial Coatings Level 1 certificate
- Have a current Forklift certificate and F endorsement
- Experience working in high compliance sites
- Have experience with power tools (grinders, needle guns, bristle blaster, sanders)
- Be a team player and understand the importance of teamwork.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Familiar and compliant with industry personal protective requirements.
- Understanding of HSE responsibilities
- Understanding of the coatings industry and standards (cleanliness, surface preparation and application of coatings)
