The Role
We are looking for a skilled Tradesman Painter with at least 2 years of professional experience to join our growing team. This is a full-time permanent position, working across residential renovations, new builds, and commercial projects. We currently have one position availbale.
You’ll be part of a reliable and passionate team delivering high-quality painting services from preparation through to finishing. The role may require travel within the South Canterbury region (e.g. Timaru, Waimate, Twizel, Oamaru), and reliable transport is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Surface preparation (patching, sanding, cleaning)
Application of primers, undercoats, and topcoats using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
Working with a variety of coatings and finishes on different surfaces
Ensuring a clean, tidy, and safe work environment
Working independently and within a team on both interior and exterior jobs
Meeting project deadlines and maintaining a high standard of workmanship
Communicating with site supervisors and clients as needed
Minimum Requirements:
At least 3 years of proven painting experience in the trade (residential and/or commercial)
Strong knowledge of surface prep, finishing techniques, and product application
Able to interpret job specs and follow plans/instructions
Physically fit and capable of manual work in various environments
Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transport
Must be able to work full time, Monday to Friday (occasional weekend work may be required)
Excellent attention to detail, work ethic, and time management skills
Must be currently living in New Zealand or willing and able to relocate to the South Canterbury area
Nice to Have:
Site Safe or other relevant trade certifications
Experience with spray-painting systems
Previous experience working in teams on large-scale construction sites
