Mo tēnei tūranga mahi | About the role

As part of our data capture team, you will play a key role in ensuring Councils infrastructural asset data is accurately represented.

Working closely with our engineers and asset managers you will be responsible for:

  • Recording new infrastructure into GIS maps and asset management information system
  • Ensuring accurate GIS maps and asset data integrity to enable valuations & decision making.
  • Ensuring asset maintenance is accurately recorded
  • Conducting site investigations to ensure asset data and maps remain accurate
  • Delivering accurate technical and spatial asset data to internal and external stakeholders as required.

This role is critical in informing the public, contractors, developers, engineers and future planning for the region through accurate technical and spatial asset data.

You may be a fresh graduate with Engineering or GIS skills or have experience already in a similar role. The successful applicant will require the following attributes:

  • Be thorough and meticulous showing a disciplined adherence to standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and approach.
  • Familiarity with GIS applications or computer aided drawing programme(s).
  • Competent with Excel to an intermediate level.
  • Have the ability to seek solutions to problems.
  • Have experience in water, wastewater and stormwater engineering and maintenance.

In addition, knowledge or experience of the following would be advantageous:

  • Interpretation and use of utility services plans and/or engineering drawings.
  • Surveying and GPS technologies.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, an asset management database.
