We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to lead our dedicated team in the Wellington region. If you have a strong eye for detail, proven leadership abilities, and a hands-on approach, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of 6+ cleaners to ensure high standards are consistently met.
- Clean and service both commercial and domestic sites while training and supporting staff on the job.
- Clean and maintain apartments as part of regular duties while providing on-the-job training.
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper with daily operations, and take full responsibility in their absence.
- Ensure efficient and fair room allocation to optimise productivity.
- Conduct routine inspections of check-out rooms, occupied spaces, public areas, corridors, and storage rooms.
- Plan and manage staff rosters based on forecasts and operational needs.
- Motivate, train, and guide the cleaning team to deliver exceptional service.
- Ensure all team members follow company policies and safety procedures.
- Monitor and control stock levels; complete monthly stock takes.
- Identify and report any health and safety risks.
- Step in to carry out cleaning duties when staff are unavailable due to leave or illness.
- Support and collaborate with management on any additional reasonable requests.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a large team.
- High standards of cleanliness, quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with Property Management Systems.
- Comfortable working on the floor alongside the team when required.
- Flexibility to work on a 7-day rotating roster.
- Must hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence.
- Based in Wellington or willing to relocate.
