About the Role
We have the opportunity available to join our Prevention team in a key leadership role as Clinical Director Immunisation. This permanent, full-time role will provide senior clinical leadership, strategic advice and guidance to the National Immunisation Programme.
The role has shared accountability for incorporating the full suite of vaccination programmes including childhood, MMR and influenza vaccinations, as well as the COVID-19 vaccination programme.
We do have some flexibility on the FTE for this role and are open to discuss this.

About you
You come with extensive clinical experience and expertise in public health medicine. You're able to maximise the quality and contributions of individuals and teams to achieve the organisation's vision, purpose and goals. You demonstrate self-awareness of your impact on people and invest in your own leadership practice to continuously grow and improve. You are comfortable applying your knowledge and skills to deal effectively with complex and politically sensitive situations and topics.
- Hold a registered medical practitioner current Annual Practising Certificate and vocational registration as a specialist medical practitioner in a relevant speciality (FNZCPHM, FAFPHM, or similar)
- Extensive clinical experience and expertise in public health medicine, with appropriate tertiary level professional qualification
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
- Proven experience managing a team in a complex environment with diverse stakeholders, including solid experience in coaching and mentoring
- Proven ability to tailor complex messages to a range of audiences including clinical, government, executive/senior managers and the public
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
