We are looking for a Commercial & Pricing Manager to lead the end-to-end pricing and commercial delivery of our electricity distribution services to retailers and consumers. This role is important in shaping pricing strategy, delivering insights and value, and providing strong people leadership.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial and Regulatory, you’ll have one direct report and work across internal teams and external stakeholders, including retailers, key commercial customers, suppliers, and regulators.
This role focuses on insight, ownership, and efficiency - moving away from transactional work to drive real commercial value, streamline processes, and eliminate manual tasks wherever possible.
- Strategy & Implementation: Develop and implement pricing and product strategies, monitor industry trends, and respond to emerging technologies to keep Northpower competitive.
- Pricing & Discount Management: Lead annual price and discount setting, maintaining and improving pricing models and processes.
- Billing: Oversight of monthly retailer billing, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Customer & Commercial Management: Build strong relationships with retailers and key commercial customers, resolving issues, managing contracts, and providing commercial guidance that earns trust.
- People Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop your direct report, fostering a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative team.
- Efficiency & Process Improvement: Streamline processes, eliminate unnecessary manual tasks, and embed best-practice systems for commercial operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assess new commercial and pricing legislation, support submissions, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Health, Safety, Quality & Environment: Maintain 100% compliance with HSQE standards and ensure a safe and sustainable workplace.
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics; CA, CFA or CPA preferred.
- 5–8+ years’ experience in price setting, commercial analysis, or similar, preferably in the electricity or telco industries, or other regulated industries
- Proven ability to deliver insights and value rather than just transactional outputs.
- Excellent commercial customer management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Efficiency-focused, with experience eliminating manual processes and improving workflows.
- Strategic thinker who can see the big picture, take ownership, and lead initiatives to completion.
