Job Description
Do yourself a power of good
Join Vector and make a difference – for the world, your community, and yourself. Whatever your role, you’ll help tackle global challenges while improving the lives of 1.7 million Aucklanders.
The role
As Community Engagement Partner, you play a vital and energising role in helping amplify Vector’s presence and building lasting connections across Auckland’s diverse communities. You’ll help shape and deliver impactful strategies that elevate Vector’s reputation, and ensure our communities feel heard, supported and valued.
This role is all about meaningful engagement, from contributing to community programs and initiatives to ensuring we respond effectively and empathetically to community feedback and concerns. You’ll be part of a small, high-performing team that’s hands-on, visible and passionate about making a difference.
Expect to be out in the community, connecting with customers face-to-face, and representing Vector in ways that build trust and goodwill. You’ll also play a crucial part in our storm and crisis response efforts, with some on-call responsibilities when our communities need us most.
Who are we looking for?
- You’ll be experienced in community engagement
- Your communication and interpersonal skills are your strength, helping build authentic relationships and connection with our customers
- You are adept at adjusting your style to your audience, and demonstrate resilience in the face of challenging conversations and environments
- You understand appropriate engagement with iwi, and are comfortable meeting with customers and speaking publicly
- You are confident in conflict resolution, negotiation and de-escalation, and remain calm, confident and solution-focused under pressure.
Please note that the nature of this role can involve occasional evening and weekend work to engage with our customers or to support Vector’s storm response.
