About Us
The Waipā District, with key locations of Cambridge and Te Awamutu, has been categorised as one of the high growth regions of New Zealand. Our Council has a strong vision to cater to this growth, creating and supporting vibrant, thriving communities, while also nurturing and celebrating Waipā's unique culture and heritage. A key part of this vision is our Community Services business unit, which is responsible for community facilities, parks and reserves, cemeteries, playgrounds, libraries, museums and heritage; a team of energetic and dedicated individuals with enormous passion for what they do.
About The Role
We are on the lookout for an experienced administrator star to join our busy Community Services business unit, providing support across all the functions described above. The opportunity has arisen due to the current postholder having to relocate due to a change in personal circumstances. The Community Services Administrator is responsible for:
- General administrative support - document creation, management of administrative systems, coordinating meetings and reports, minute taking and distribution;
- Administrative and diary support for the Manager Community Services;
- Contract support (e.g. formatting and reviewing contract documentation, preparing supporting information) and contributing to project work;
- Financial administration including raising and managing purchase orders and processing invoices; and
- Cemeteries administration - coordinating the headstone permit process, supporting Council's Customer Support team with burial and ash interment bookings, and liaising with our Sextons and Parks & Reserves Supervisors.
About You
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience in a similar or equivalent role, and experience working with financial processes and systems and electronic document management. Great interpersonal skills, strong writing capabilities and the ability to be a self-starter with good time management are essential.
