Job Description
We have a great opportunity for a Compliance Coordinator to join our friendly and supportive team based at our Landfill/Energy Park in Whitford, Auckland.
About the role
You will support our management team and be responsible for coordinating compliance activities, including company policy, Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ System Management), and ensuring compliance against Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI's) and Safety & Sustainability targets, across multiple sites in South Auckland.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Investigating and documenting hazards, incidents or unsafe acts and the co-ordination of investigations, observations, and inspections.
- Proactive maintenance of compliance, safety and risk records.
- Actively developing, reviewing, and maintaining SOP’s, Risk Assessments, Work Instructions.
- Arranging training for team members.
- Analysing and reporting on statistics relating to HSEQ.
- Acting as first point of contact for site and operational managers.
- Direct involvement in the Environmental and Sustainability reporting needs of the business.
- Coordinating and presenting Toolbox Talks and training sessions.
- Collaborating with the wider HSEQ and compliance teams across the company.
- Developing, coordinating and tracking annual site HSEQ plans.
Qualifications
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who is looking for an opportunity to make a difference and wishes to expand their career in the HSEQ and compliance field. You collaborate with the other Compliance Coordinators within the Division, driving improvement, knowledge sharing and upskilling, contributing to continuous improvement and generating subject matter expertise.
You embrace change, are a confident, effective communicator (written and verbal) can flex and adapt to changing priorities and, adhere to stringent deadlines and are comfortable working under pressure. You have a positive attitude and high attention to detail. A genuine passion for safety and people is a must.
Ideally you will have:
- A recognised health and safety qualification
- Working knowledge of HSEQ legislation and regulations in New Zealand
- Previous experience with HSEQ management systems and Quality Assurance administration
- Work experience of an operational environment
- A full driver’s licence with limited, but routine, travel within the south Auckland area
