About the Role: We’re looking for a senior civil construction leader to join our team at Simcox Construction (part of the Isaac Group), based in Blenheim and delivering across the wider Marlborough and Kaikōura regions.
As Construction Manager, you will play a key leadership role supporting the Regional and Operations Managers to drive project delivery excellence, mentor and grow our emerging project management talent, and contribute to securing future work. This is a hands-on role in a lean but high-performing team, ideal for someone ready to make a real difference — both on the ground and in long-term capability building.
You’ll also collaborate regularly with our other four regional bases across the South Island, backed by Isaac Group’s strong support functions in Christchurch.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute flexibly within our lean management team – this is a hands-on leadership role.
- Lead involvement in tendering, pricing, and strategy for new work.
- Mentor and support project managers in all aspects of delivery, including commercial management and contract leadership.
- Guide continuous improvement across construction quality, delivery innovation, and safety performance.
- Engage with clients, consultants, subcontractors and local authorities to strengthen relationships and uphold our reputation.
- Coordinate Blenheim Construction P&L monthly reporting and analysis.
- Take a leading role in promoting excellent health and safety, quality, environment and productivity cultures in the Simcox Construction crews. Contribute to continuous improvement of our HSEQ Systems.
About You:
- Proven senior project management track record in civil construction, ideally with experience managing departments or regions.
- Strong commercial acumen – able to lead tenders and price projects upwards of $15M.
- Deep experience mentoring and developing project managers and site leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills – grounded, collaborative, and confident.
- Willingness to “roll up sleeves” and support where needed across operations and leadership.
