About the Role
The Delivery Lead role sits in the Major Projects team in the Protection Directorate of the National Public Health Service (NPHS). It works across our inflight projects dealing with specialist needs relating to reporting and analytics integration as well as delivering the Surveillance Migration Project.
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Delivery Lead to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in shaping inflight and complex business technology projects that significantly impact public health outcomes across New Zealand.
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- A current in-depth understanding of the National PHS information eco-system
- Significant experience leading pieces of work spanning multiple government entities
- Established critical networks across Health NZ including operational public health, data and digital development approaches, data warehousing and partner agencies including ESR and PHA
- A background in leading delivery across business technology projects within hybrid agile/waterfall environments
- Experience at adeptly handling clinical, business, and equity risks
- Experience managing current and potential cross-agency project integrations and fostering collaborative relationships to ensure timely project delivery
- Detailed knowledge of notifiable disease management within Aotearoa including information and reporting requirements
- A history of delivery excellence in the project space with a background in fully completing projects at all stages of their lifecycle
- The ability to adeptly build and maintain relationships with complex stakeholder groups, managing their expectations, and keeping them informed of project progress
- Experience working in dynamic environments including change delivery capability and excellent facilitation skills

You will have:
- Relevant graduate qualification and health sector experience - preferably in Public Health
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
- The highest standards of personal, professional and institutional behaviour through commitment, loyalty and integrity
- Proven ability to lead large scale, multi programme/project coordination and delivery across diverse functions, at a senior level.
- Proven experience successfully leading large diverse teams through change and achieving improved results while navigating a highly nuanced and complex system
- Proven experience in successfully developing and maintaining a structured approach to managing a wide range of stakeholder and professional relationships both internally and externally
- Adaptability: able to adjust pragmatically and constructively to changes in work practices, and to deal with competing demands, priorities and a significant amount of ambiguity
- Experience operating in a confidential/secure environment with access to sensitive information
- Continuous improvement mind-set
