Hours of work: 15 hours per week

About the role:
As a Diversional Therapist, you’ll lead and develop a resident-centred activities programme that promotes physical, intellectual, emotional, cultural, and spiritual wellbeing. You’ll work closely with residents, families/whānau, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure every individual’s needs and preferences are met through engaging and therapeutic activities.
Duties include:
- Develop and implement individualised activity plans for residents.
- Lead and mentor the Activities team to deliver safe, stimulating programmes.
- Organise group and one-on-one activities, including community outings and themed events.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, infection control, and clinical standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to multidisciplinary reviews.
- Promote family/whānau and community involvement in activities.
- Manage resources and equipment effectively.

Skills and Experience:
- Excellent people and team skills, with experience working with the elderly and their families
- Diversional Therapy Certification and Registration
- First Aid and Medication Management competency (or willingness to train)
- Proven leadership and team coordination experience
- A current, clean driver’s license
- Resourceful, flexible, patient and motivated
