Join us as an experienced Drainlayer and be a part of the growing water works within the Auckland Region.
As a Drainlayer you will support the Stormwater team by running the day-to-day operations which will have you involved in trenching, installing and evaluating piping including plant resources and liaising with your crew and subcontractors.
In addition to the above you will:
- Check pipe gradients for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
- Install or repair storm water structures or pipe systems
- Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors
- Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools
- Excavate and dig trenches along areas marked on the plans
- Work across any 7 days of the week, including weekends if required
- Be available for On Call Rosters

We’re looking for someone with:
- Must be an experienced Certified Drain Layer
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Drain layer
- Strong understanding of the principals and technology of drain laying is required
- Experience in working with Council owned public drainage assets not solely domestic drainage
- Experience supervising work undertaken by those undertaking training
- Minimum Current class 2 licence, ideally with WTR endorsement
